That is why I put GY WeatherReady tires on my son's 2WD Escape.

And that is what I have been saying for months, but the snow tire cult won't hear of it. As is evident by eddyvw's post above.

Nokian WRG4 are snow tires, except Nokian is selling them as all-weather.
Toyo Celsius I would not touch with 10-foot pole or Quatrac. It is compromise, and compromises do not work well in either extreme situations, too cold or too hot.

Have you actually used the Celsius, WeatherReady, or the Quatrac or are you relying on your magic 8 ball?

Magic 8 ball.
When tire has "all" in it, it means: not good in anything.

Well enjoy your ignorance. If Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, or Castrol Edge said All Climate on the bottle, would they be subpar?

And Lord help Prestone......

And yet, my All Season TrueContact Tours on my Santa Fe drove up icy roads where Jeeps were stuck, and then back down the other side of the hill without once engaging antilock. Must have been dumb, blind luck, huh?

JEEP's had worse tire than you did. Not indication that somehow your tire is good performer in snow.
All Season tires will have better traction than summer tires in snow and keep compound flexible at bit lower temperatures. That is not indication of good performing tire in snow. Also, with AWD in conditions such as those, any all season tire will make it up. Going down depends on speed, weight etc.
And yes, it is dumb, blind luck, with emphasis on dumb.

Ok. Um......wow.

Well, like they say, "Ya can't fix stupid." Seems you are terminally broken.

Well you mentioned it.
On another thread you are wondering how Subaru with such good AWD could not move with all seasons. You saw results in braking. You really think your uber, super Continentals would have different results? Those guys also stopped with Bridgestone all seasons. But on the road, three car lengths are difference between life and death.
Yes, you really cannot fix stupid.

You ought know.......

Maybe put your ego aside and research how the Continentals performed in actual testing before you make a further fool of yourself with more ignorant posts.

And maybe you should put the bong down for a bit.

I am happy to report that the Continental TrueContact Tours did excellent on the AWD Santa Fe.

There were only two times that I locked the AWD in due to having to stop on an incline where other cars were spinning and going backwards. When it was my time to go around them, I didn't want to take the chance of hitting them.

Other than that, I couldn't tell if or when the SF was using FWD or AWD.

First one to make it into the office today.

That's terrible! So sorry! Hate being the first one at the office! Hope you've learned to leave later!

Actually, it is usually better to be early in this area. Our snow is usually very wet, and the more people drive on it, the more it turns to ice.

LOL, yes, yours would make it. Other all season would not, but yours would. Plus on Hyundai, I mean, snow plows, move on a side.

Have you at least exercised the intellectual integrity to research how well they do in the snow? Or are you too brainwashed into having dedicated snow tires for one week a year, even though they SUCK BUTT the other 51 weeks of the year?

And no, not all tires perform equally....Bridgestones generally suck, just like VW's.

What makes you think I drive snows 52 weeks a year? Where did you get that idea? Have you heard of lug nuts and procedure of taking off tires and putting dedicated summers or performance all seasons during warm months?
The fact that you assume that people drive on one set of tires all year, is explanation why you bought something that resembles vehicle.

Yes I understand about swapping out snow tires for summer tires. But why bother with that when you don't have too for one week a year?

I get it.....you are one of those idiots I see driving a VW or a soccer mom van with studded nows on in June.....now I understand your handicap.

It sounds like June snow/ice in the Rockies is not unheard of so you probably should not dismiss it easily.

I think you both deserve a penalty box, is there one?

Snow tires are popular name. The real designation is winter tire. They are not only working in snow, but in dry or wet when temperature drops below 45 degrees.
Same as winter tires become too soft in warm or hot days, and they degrade performance, that happens with summer and all season tires. That is why "all" is problematic, as it cannot achieve good performance in warm and hot days if it is good performer in cold/snow/ice. Same goes other way around.
People think that Continental Extreme Performance DWS is best thing after sliced bread. I have them, but compare to any winter tire, they are horrid in snow.
Now, if your performance target is General RT43, yeah then maybe they are good in snow.
