If the OP disregards the responses in this thread and buys any car other than the Camry, shame, shame!!! Thinking this through, though, that Camry has been on the road for ten years. That is a lot of time for maintenance to be missed, accidents, sitting for long stretches and maybe starting some engine sludging.
Hear me out. Would a better solution not be to get the best possible deal on a spanking new Toyota Corolla? It's probably not meaningfully smaller than a 2014 Camry, guaranteed and doggedly reliable. Also shiny. At 18K you are not too far off the mark....
