Confused about different versions of M1

Last time I was over at Wal-Mart, I noticed they had 3 different versions of Mobil 1 5w30 on the shelf. The regular version, the Extended Performance, and Truck & SUV.
I also noticed that only the regular and EP meet GM 4718M, and that the EP and Truck/SUV met another GM spec that I'd never heard of before (6970M, IIRC?). What is that specification? I know 4718M is Corvette spec, but this other one I'm not familiar with.

What's the difference (if any) between these 3 versions of what appear to be the same basic oil?

What would be best in a higher mileage Dodge 4.7L V8?

Right now I'm using M1 SuperSyn that I stocked up on a while back when it was on sale. No complaints whatsoever. I typically run 5000 mile OCIs, though I could probably go longer. Dropping it at 5k relieves some mental anxiety of leaving oil in the engine for such a long time.

If your dumping at 5k, just get what is cheapest which is usually M1 5w-30. No need to go for the more expensive EP.

What is the price point of the T&SUV 5w-30 anyways? Is it the same as the EP(?), or somewhere in between regular M1 and EP?

IIRC, the T&SUV was the middle of the road for cost.

I was more interested in what the difference between the three formulations was, if anyone had any conclusive data.

The guy on the Mobil info line told me the T&SUV was "similar" to the plain M1 5w30.

I am currently running a batch of M1 T&SUV 5w-30 and the bottle read that it had more "stuff" in it than the regular formula for "hard working trucks and SUVs". As for what that "stuff" is, I have no idea. It could be SuperSynth, Tri-Synth or Elf turds for all I know.

For Mobil, the image in the minds of the public is far more important than what's in the bottle. Mobil kind of created their own category of oil, performance synthetic factory fill and if you want to be like Porsche, Corvette or MB, then you should buy M1. Their ads show a Corvette that come with M1 as a factory fill, but they are selling Mobil Drive Clean. It's all just marketing. I'll bet there isn't much difference between any of them, once you pour them in your engine. Just keep at least one empty bottle, so you know when one to pick, next oil change.
