I took my 2010 Toyota Sienna XLE FWD to the local dealer for coolant exchange at 100k. The mechanic stated that the rear coil springs and shock absorbers needed to be replaced and cited one of the springs was broken. The service advisor quoted me approximately $1,700.00.

A couple weeks later and I replaced the springs and shock absorbers to the tune of $240 in parts from NAPA and about 2 hours of labor. Yes the shock absorbers were original and not completely shot but getting there.

I purchased this vehicle used from the same dealer which had been responsible for all previous service on it. The advisor stated that this spring must have recently broke otherwise it wouldn't have passed inspection when I bought it a year ago. I think the rust says otherwise.
