there is this oil that is pretty cheap and is sold at my local auto zone. its called coastal.

is this a dependable fluid for its application? can i use it safely for my differential temporarly for at least 8 months (50 miles).

it seems cheap but if it works i might just try it, my budget has been really tight with insurance, registration, bills, and food. so tell me what u think..

thanks.

I use it in my BMW 320i rear differential(80W90 GL5)and it seems fine.No excess noise or weird behavior so far.Good nuff!

alright! hahah, ill try it out. anything is worth a shot than the stuff that is in my differential.

do you think its good for a gl4 application like the trannny...if not imma go with redline or mobil 1 anyways.

thanks bro for a response, i really appreciate it.

I'm not so sure about it in a transmission that calls for a GL4 80W.I'd use Redline MTL in an 80W GL4 transmission application.

digital,

Try a 50/50 mix of Redline MTL and MT-90. The manual transmission shouldn't take over two quarts.

I usually buy four quarts and make a gallon. Leaves me half a gallon for next year.

my transmission calls for gl4...4 pints...doesnt seem like alot to me..i would think it needed alot more.

hehe for the last couple of months i said i was going to do my differential and transmission...lol still to this day i havent. so im going to do the differential today for sure, since its easy.

to fill my transmission i have to take out my exaust system...its blocked and i dont have the right tool..plus idiots at smog welded my CAT in place.
