Is there a VOA out there for the Coastal Fleet 15w-40 HDEO sold at Advance Auto Parts, Auto Zone, etc?

I called Coastal and was told their CI-4 grade Fleet 15w-40 had:
P-1280 ppm
Zn-1410 ppm
C-2410 ppm
TBN-10

While I'd like to believe these numbers, I suspect they may be slightly dated as it seems on the high side for an inexpensive oil. For example, recent VOA I've seen for CI-4+ Rotella 15w-40 had zinc levels in the 1200-1300 ppm range.
Unfortunately, I forgot to ask what the date was for the Coastal specs. Although, he did say the results were "typical".

Do the refiners fool around with additive levels while still retaining the same API grade from year to year?

Looks like a healthy CI-4 oil to me. I imagine there are slight variances from batch to batch (and VOAs can differ based on the lab), which is why he used the "typical" weasel word.

Although the CI-4/CI-4+ spec isn't explicit about Zinc/Phosphorous, you should be able to pick up any jug of pre CJ-4 oil and expect a decent amount of ZDDP.

Right?

I have seen this oil but never used it in my Powerstroke. I have been using Shell Rotella 15w40 no issues.

I'm actually running this oil, but not in an engine.

My Scag zero turn mower calls for 20w-50 regular motor oil in the hyrdaulic drive. I reasoned that the slightly lower viscosity would assist in quicker and easier movement (which is so subjective, I can't even claim a realized result) and it would possibly protect the wear components better due to a higher additive package (HDEO vs. "regular" engine oil).

After 200 hours, it's to be changed. That will take me a couple of years. Then I was going to pull a UOA on it, just to see what wear metals were present.

Overall, I liked the additive package (CI-4) and it was CHEAP to purchase. I would think it would make a great oil to try in an older tractor or diesel truck; one that didn't require the lower emmisions packages.
