I am in the market for a mini van. I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with the 2011 Town and Country. I tend to keep my vehicles a long time,so I don't want to make a mistake.

Jeff, there is a new comparo road test in May Car & Driver pitting the Chrysler against the Odessey, Sienna and new Nissan. They surprised themselves by ranking the Chrysler second remarking on the many refinements added since the current generation model finished dead last in they're previous test. if you can handle the styling, it sounds like it should serve you well.

James Healy from The USA Today did a test and report on March 3rd or 4th, 2011. It was titled Dodge Caravan rises to the top of it's class. It's for the Town & Countries also. I'll bet you can find it on line searching Google for James Healey's site.

If you don't like the styling, there's always the Volkswagen Routan. Of course then you have to pay at little more and give up features like the Stow'n Go seating.

I want the 3.6 to do well, but I have my concerns about buying an early version.

The Chrysler 3.3 eventually became one of the most durable engines out there, but early models had rocker arm problems. I haven't heard of any problems with the early 3.6es, but they could still surface.

Honda Odyssey.....would be my choice.... Consumer Reports gives the Odyssey its top ranking....especialy on reliability.

I have a 2001 Ody which has served me well, but I am sick of taking the 2nd row seats in and out. Approaching 70 yo and I feel the 65lb seats more and more as time goes on. I drove the T&C and placed one on order. The reliability is a big concern, and I may regret it, time will tell.

Edmonds did a test of all the mvs and it was a convaluted scoring. They liked the handling but gave it poor scores on some arbitrary stuff. Order of rankings were Toy, Nissan, Honda, T&C, Dodge. link The Honda was well below their price guidelines, and if they had bought a higher priced one it would have eliminated most of their complaints about the Honda. It is an interesting read, and there weren't a lot of points difference in the test.

The price really has my attention. Some dealers are offering up to 5k off, thats what got my attention along with the stow and go. I have had nothing but Toyota's for the last 10 years and have been very happy. I would like to give Chrysler a chance, but don't want to regret it.
