Hey guys, im wife's grandfather is looking for a new car, hes got a 05 town and country with 60k miles, great condition, dealer maintained. Ive been looking to add a minivan to my garage, always been a fan of the massive cargo space. Its going to cost me about 6 grand if I buy it from him. I was just wondering, any town and country owners out there? Is spare parts any issue at all, since I plan on keeping for at least another 5-7 years if I buy?
Thanks fellow car-fans!

I know of a few, one @80k, and other @125k, and both are doing few, minus a few minor issues.

I say go for it!

That's the nicest of the Caravan line for sure. My brother had a ~1996 for a good 10yrs and way over 100Kmi. He never touched the transmission other than replace a leaky line. It was rusting away badly which prompted them to get rid of it.

You won't have to worry about parts/service. There's a zillion of them on the road and I'd guess that they would be the least expensive to repair. AFAIK, Chrysler has always been the #1 volume seller.

Rear heat-A/C will get problematic as the vehicle ages. Repair costs get $$$$ or worst case you go a/c-less (my brother went that route).

$6k? For a well maintained van that you know the owner hasn't abused? What is there to think about?

These are the used cars people dream of finding.

As long as it's been maintained well and that particular one has a good service history, it's a good deal. We had an '07 that nickle-and-dimed us to death and we eventually dumped it. There are some very common issues with these things. Fortunately, few of them really disable the vehicle. But all are annoying. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask. I'm a master Mopar minivan mechanic, having owned an '03 Grand Caravan and an '07 T&C.
