I remember the local Chevron distributor selling this Synthetic cheap! I was just wondering if any of you oil nuts have tried this oil. Comes in a silver container.

I run it in my Scion TC in a 10W-30 weight and the engine is quiet. It is only available locally in the above weight. I run 5000 mile intervals with no problems so far.

Distributor carries all the weights off the web page below. Can't find any VOA's on the additives.

Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic Motor Oils are designed for those drivers who demand the ultimate in engine protection. They provide an extra measure of protection for your investment in a sport utility vehicle (SUV), high performance, or luxury car. Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic Motor Oils give improved protection to high output, supercharged and turbocharged performance vehicles.

Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic Motor Oils are formulated using 100% synthetic base stocks for the best performance. The improved volatility and stability of synthetic base stocks give reduced oil consumption, faster engine starting (especially in cold weather), and extremely fast lubrication of all moving parts compared to conventional oils. In addition, a special blend of additives protects the engine against harmful deposits and wear.

Chevron offers four different grades of Synthetic Motor Oils to meet your
driving needs:

Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic 5W-20 Motor Oil
It meets the requirements of API SM/CF and ILSAC GF-4. It provides exceptional performance in extreme cold temperatures.
Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil
Meets the requirements of API SM/CF and ILSAC GF-4. It provides exceptional performance in extreme cold temperatures.
Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil

It also meets the requirements of the BMW Longlife-01 and Volkwagen W 502.00 505.00 standards as well as the requirements of API SM/CF.
Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic 10W-30 Motor Oil
Provides good all-weather performance in the most popular viscosity grade. It meets the requirements of API SM/CF and ILSAC GF-4

If it is the same as Havoline synthetic, it is a great oil. I'm guessing it is close or equal, as Chevron and Texaco are merged.

Same specs as Havoline. The local petroleum distributor sells the Chevron Synthetic for only 3-4 (this was 2 months ago prices may have gone up) bucks a quart. Get it cheap by the case. I just looked in the phone book for a local distributor. List of refineries where I live is Shell, ConocoPhillips, Tesoro, BP, US Oil and Refining, and Sound Refining. Chevron is in Canada just north. We have distributors who sell to area businesses and to people in general in case you can't find the product at the nearby Walmart.

When Big Lots was dishing out Havoline full synthetic 5W-40 for $3 a bottle, I had a chance to buy a huge quantity of it; now I'm wishing I had.

That's what I did with the old Havoline Synthetic. Still have a bunch and got it cheap because of the new Havoline. I use it in the truck and works great! I'm going to nose around the distributor and see what's up for good cheap Synthetic for the truck. If you look at the link 76 and Kendall have pretty darn good specs. After they merged they're exactly the same. I keep wondering if it's an overkill using AMSOIL ASL in my 07 Honda Si. This forum has gottin' me carried away on oil.

Chevron specs are easy to find but you don't see Kendall in too many stores. I have to price this. The specs are okay compared to other Synthetics.

Checked the local distibutor today and Chevron Synthetic is 6.00 bucks a quart! It wasn't that high before and IMO not worth it when you can get Havoline Synthetic (same specs) for about 5.00 bucks a quart at G.I. Joes (now Joes). I can get AMSOIL ASL for about 5.50-5.75 (cases) a quart and it's PAO/and some esters!
Sorry for the false alarm folks.
