Nice, but I'm the guy that bought a 13 dollar bike at a thrift store and on a whim followed the Hood To Coast runners all the way to the finish line 100+ miles
Well, I have racked over 900 miles on my auction special Skykomish, and finally got a slow leak in the rear tube, so I slapped on a fresh tube and Goodyear foldable cruiser pattern tire. Rides good
OP MetalSlug, how's things with your Academy special?
Got my bike too, Goodwill special at $69, took a test ride and that seat shock sold me on it. I just do about a 15 minute ride, up on a hill and if I stay on the plateau, I don't have to come back up a hill...that might be beyond my level.
Now I should look for some DIY service for bikes, I might service it better that the last one, which was donated to Goodwill...I used to do some greasing the bearings on the small Schwinn bikes as a kid. This one just needed the shift cable adjusted, still don't have that right, it seems to go between 2 and 3 intermittently and doesn't seem to get 1st, and the brake adjustment could be optimized, and I really should learn the bike service tips as to not squander another opportunity;
