Cheap A/T initial impressions Trail Guide All Terrain 235/75R15 XL

88 F-150 was ready for new tires. 10 years and 15k miles on the Goodyears that were on it. They still had plenty of tread, but I don't ride on tires over 10 years old. Requirements for new tires were reasonable price, white letters, XL load rating and normal looking tread. These fit the bill and were $88 a piece at Walmart. Tires all have 1324 date codes and are made in Cambodia. Took minimal weight to balance and seem to ride nice. 12/32 tread depth and look good to me.

Those look similar to the Cosmo "El Tigre" I bought for my truck.

Yeah I think they will be better in water than what I had which were these:

These tires were alright, but they were very squishy feeling if you had anything sort of heavy in the bed or on a trailer and wet traction was iffy. I remember in 2015 I got a set of 5 for $300 and they made it 10 years parked outside on dirt and were only starting to have some noticeable dry rot... Hard to complain for a vehicle that gets 1500 miles a year put on it.

My 96 Ram CTD 4x4 came with a newish set of those. They’ve been good tires tbh. No complaints. I haven’t had a chance to play with them in the snow though.

I actually like the old school design of the sidewalls.

Same here. That’s why my truck will forever ride on 17’s… also smaller wheels physically won’t fit over the brakes.

I bought a set of those Good Year wranglers around 2004 to 2005 when Walmart had them for $50 .
As you stated they were alright !
I think you will be miles ahead of those with the new set you have.
