Changing Grease's, OK?

I am buying a truck that was serviced by a shop all it's life and they use a different type of grease then i use, my stuff is green chassis grease from canadian tire, their's looks red or black. Is it ok to use the green grease with that stuff?

If i switch it,ill pump it to get all the old grease out.

Is the good green grease any good? It seems to work well on my car.

Just wondering what to do because i do everything myself.

Make sure your new grease meets the chassis requirements of your vehicle color means squat.

Typical would be a LITH or ALUM complex #2 grease with a timken of >40 lbs.

Also purge all old grease otherwise, if NOT compatible the greases in the bearing will "MELT" or get thin and run out leaveing a dry bearing even if this happens just re grease till most of old is out then you will be OK.

The grease will be used in the tie rod and ball joints and every other grease fitting on the truck

Most folks have lube service done here, there, and anywhere convenient. If there were frequent incompatibility issues you'd hear lots of complaining, or service facilities would have to do some sort of "flush" before they could grease a new customers vehicle!

incombatibility is real, in a chassis it is not seen since any "melting" grease would normally not be seen, rare perhaps but real that is why it is a good idea to flush old grease if not for compatibility to at least get out old grease and WATER.

I picked up a tube of pennzoil TTM EP 302 Gease NLGI 2 spec... Any good?

In chassis parts we just get to sell new part when they wear prematurely.
