Changed my oil after a fresh top end build.....

Just finished heads and cam install. Changed the oil after letting it run for a while and I see fine gold speks.

if you were prospecting, that's a good one yard pan..20-30 colors, so roughly $20-$30/Yrd.

with new parts running in, you're gonna see SOME bit's and flecks. I wouldn't worry too much about those..the filter should catch them eventually
 
See we always leave the pumps dry, fill engine with oil. Blip starter a few times, minus spark and fuel.

Then when primed, as evidenced by oil under the valve cover, button everything up, then fire it up.

Takes longer, but the one time we caught a blocked oil passage due to a decking screwup...it was worth it.
 
I used ARP Ultra Torque assembly lube on the head studs and washers and comp cams red assembly lube on the cam, lifters, pushrods and rockers.

I primed the oil pump before closing up the engine and verified oil to every rocker.

Once the engine was installed I disable fuel and crank till pressure shows on the gauge. Oil pressure is good.

Bottom end was not touched.
