Hi all,
Anybody know where I can find some info on why my Poulan 221 is not lubricating the chain and bar? Poulan.com is useless and the owners manual is useless as far as troubling shooting this problem.
PS yes the tank has plenty of chain and bar oil:)

These guys should be able to help out.

ditto on the oil passages. there are small "holes" at the end of the bar that allow oil to pass into the grove that the chain rides in and that allows the oil to be distributed along the length of the bar. These holes frequently get plugged by debris especially if cutting green or soft wood and of course if you regularly hit the ground while cutting.

there are tools to clean the oil passages and also the whole grove on the bar.

also different brands of oil have different results some are "too" thick especially if you have a small saw using an oil to thick for it. I have had to thin down such oil before for use on a small saw.
