I’ve got a JLT catch can on my ‘19 F150 3.5EB. I normally get about 2 ounces of accumulation per 4k miles, and I’m going to do a UOA on the soup it accumulates.

To my knowledge, nobody’s done a UOA on catch can trappings, so I figured it would be fun to ask the board and try to guess what’s going to show up in the analysis. Is it going to mimic the contents of the oil, or will it be “additive-free”? What’s the guess on fuel content and/or viscosity (current oil is supposed to be 10.7 cSt @ 100*C)? How about insolubles?

I think this will be neat data especially for true GDI engines.

I'm interested. We get 1 oz (smells like gasoline) every 6k miles from the catch can on our 07 Yukon Denali w/6.2L.
