If it's an excavator he can use hydraulic fluid because the pump only operates the boom. If it was a dozer you would be correct because then you would also using wet brakes that require a CF-4 or TO-4 recommendation. Try to stick with the AW68 because it will give you better protection under load and don't buy the cheap stuff.
