castrol spec sheets

Here is the spec sheet for Castrol's Syntec 5W-40 oil sold at VW dealers. I received this info from Castrol last week.

I am just going past break-in on my S2000 and researching 5W-40's. I am leaning towards Redline, but I prefer soemthing that is easier to locate.

Flash point is lower than I would have thought.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

Castrol SYNTEC SAE 5W-40 is engineered specifically to meet the Volkswagen engine warranty requirements, exceeding VW 502 00 and 505 00. Exceeds all car and light truck manufacturer's warranty requirements for the protection of gasoline, diesel and turbocharged engines where API SL, SJ, SH, CF or CD is recommended. Porsche approved and also exceeds European ACEA: A3, B3, B4, MB 229.3, MB 229.1, BMW LL-98. Meets the engine protection requirements of Corvette GM 4718M, Volvo, BMW, Mercedes Benz and ILSAC GF-3 for API Certified Gasoline Engine Oils.
 
After more than a year Castrol finaly has a product data sheet for the "German" Castrol Syntec. Unfortunately it is wrong. The tech data sheet lists the HTHS as 2.9. Since this oil has the ACEA ratings of A3/B3 and B4 the HTHS must be 3.5 cP or greater.

Looking at the poor point of 5w 30 GTX dino and 5w 30 Syntec synthetic shows only 6 deg difference.

Guess I was expecting more than that.
