Hey Guys
I presently use Castrol GTX 5w30 in winter 10w30 warm months in my 1995 Nissan Hardbody 4x4 V6 truck with 72000 miles on it. I always change the oil and filter every 3 months or 3000 miles with out fail using a Nissan oil filter. I am trying to determine if I can buy a all around better dino oil off the store shelve? Is Valvoline a better choice for all year protection? I have seen some opinions on this board stating Castrol GTX is a good oil, but may not offer great cold weather benifits as in other dino oils.
Thanks Your Feedback is Welcome

Based on feedback from this forum, Chevron Supreme and Pennzoil tend to get slightly higher feedback than Castrol and Valvoline.

My preference for dino oil is Pennzoil because PureBase sounds very close to Group III hydrocracked base stock plus it has a decent shot of Moly.

I believe that Chevron Supreme and Castrol probably have given the best numbers although there is a very recent Pennzoil UOA that gave very good results. I would stick with the Castrol if that's what you are using.

I, personally, would still run Valvoline over those others.
