Same design as Start-Up, but in white. Only 5w-20 had the new bottle and SM spec. Is this the first SM oil to market? [I dont know] (besides Petronas)

Local Wal*Mart in NEPA. GTX FLIES off the shelves here. It is barren after a nice weather weekend, the GTX and Havoline are severly depleted.

Got a bottle of Start up here (10-30). I don't see any SM designation anywhere. Would it only be 5-20?

Audi said that the one he found was GTX 5w-20.

According to last week's LUBE REPORT, SM oils can be marketed as such, but won't be elligible to have the "SM" designation inserted into the API donut until November 30. (delayed two months under threat of litigation from the independent oil companies)

The new label of Castrol Syntec Blend 10W-30 mentions API SM and claims to save gas, but if I remember correctly it is still identified as API SL. [Roll Eyes]

If you were to look at "some" of the latest Mobil 1 UOA's they are already formulated to the SM phos cap . The Castrol Syntec 5w-30 VOA shows it's ready to go as well just not noted on the donut yet .
