I am somewhat confused over the labelling of this oil. The API rating shows SL but reading the label it says exceeds SM, ILSAC,GF-4, GF-3. If that's the case why don't they state it as API SM ?
Also no mention whether it is dino oil or a synthetic blend. Will this be good enough for my first oil change to my Ford Freestyle.

When that oil first hit the shelfs it was labeled as you state. I believe the more recent versions are labeled properly. What I am saying is that I think you have an early version when they weren't allowed to come right out and say SM in the donut.
I also believe that most 5/20's are in fact syn-blends (Gr.3) whether they are labeled as such or not. It is almost impossible to meet the Ford spec. without a significant amount of 'synthetic'
