If you had to chose between these two, which would you choose and why? Which one looks better on paper?

Castrol Edge and Valvoline Extended Protection in 5W30 SP.

I’ve run the castrol you mentioned in a Honda 1.5t, performed well I’m sure the valvoline will be great too, but since i can recommend castrol from experience I’ll say that one. I’d run the valvoline within hesitation though. If you keep changing at 5-7k intervals either oil will keep your engine running like new for a long time especially the Honda in your sig, I got that same engine to 250k and it still ran like new when I sold it, no major work besides clutch And brakes and general maintenance.

I’ve got Magnatec in it now,got about 150 miles or so till oil change time (olm is at 5%). So far it’s been the best running of the bunch (Magnatec,QSUD,PPHM). I’m guessing Edge should have “the edge” over Magnatec:D Haha couldn’t resist;)

As much as I like Edge 0W-40, I say "Buy American" right about now.

Valvoline Advanced or EP, NAPA (Valvoline), and Kirkland oil products for me.
