I’m surprised at how thin these new HM oils are, I’m ‘used’ to them being thick in grade, like over 11 cst for a 30-weight. PP HM is the same way, just barely a 30-weight.

but the low weights have been around for a while now & a lot of these cars have "High Mileage". Now it's time to sell these cars "high mileage" oils. Add in the newest "energy conserving" requirements & this is what we get. lol

I agree. The Castrol website data sheet showed a CST of 11.3. I guess they haven’t updated the website yet. I was hoping for a boosted add pack and this one looks average to me. I ran it anyway and will sample again to see if my GDI turbo does well on it.

Do you happen to remember if this is the latest Dexos1 Gen3 formulation? It would say it clearly on the front of the bottle.

The one I tested last year was not. But it also matched the PDS at the time in viscosity. Here's the PDS from January 10 2020:

And here is the latest PDS for Dexos1 Gen3:

You can see the viscosity went from 9.9 to 11.3. Your VOA looks like the older PDS (and my VOA).
