True, but good luck finding it.

Syntec 20W-50 was the same deal - looked like a GREAT product, but hardly anybody on here has ever seen it in a store, and we'd be the ones that would notice!

Edge or Syntec. The Edge is new and seems to be a step forward for the company in the quality of oil in that grade. The Syntec is everywhere and usually commands a premium.

I agree, Syntec 5W-50 is common and a favorite for certain older cars.

I picked up some Syntec 5W-50 for my Europa this past summer on clearance for 4 bucks/L.
This grade is not popular any more since it is no longer specified as an option by most manufacturer's like Porsche.
We used to get M1 5W-50 but that has been removed from the Cdn market entirely.

I tend to think you saw Syntec 5W-50. Edge 5W-50 is great because it updates an old product and is virtually the only real oil that you can get in that grade.

CATERHAM, Eneos makes a 0W-50. Perhaps you woul dbe interested in that for the Europa? I see you got away from 20W-50 for her.

Syntec 5W-50, replaced the unicorn-like Syntec 20W-50 which i have NEVER seen in real life, and never will since its been replaced by 5W-50, which i have seen IRL:

The only reason I was still using the spec' 20W-50 was because the Europa consumes almost as much oil as gas.

Yes, I would be interested in the Eneos 0W-50 for the Porsche and BMW blended with some Toyota 0W-20. Now if I could find some for 4 bucks/L.

You cant but im PMing you a link to the Eneos 0W-50 mail order.

It sounds like an extremely good oil, and if these oils get as thick at operating temp as other 50s then i dont see why your well-worn Europa would use that much of it. (btw, i checked out the Europa. Sounds like you kept the original twin-cam Strombergs. I have to applaud that. I just hope she runs strong!) http://www.autabuy.com/Vehicles/Details.cfm?VID=221744&CollectionAdded=1

Quattro Pete, thank you for the picture of SN 5W-50. Appreciated!
