I know this is old news, but I was looking at oils at Walmart and the made in Japan caught my eyes.
0W16 Castrol wasn't discussed much, and I wasn't able to find a VOA/UOA so far.

I guess it makes sense for Castrol to blend their 0W16 in Japan, which must be a bigger market. That or they just buy something from another blender/manufacturer and rebadge 🤔

makes sense since every car that uses 0w16 is Japanese

There's also no ILSAC GF-6B shield, either

I wouldn't doubt that it's made by someone else, likely Eneos or Idemitsu

In hindsight, I should have grabbed it when I saw it, but paying $14 (CAD) for a liter when the Castrol 0W40 I was buying was $27 for 5 liter (on special, Canadian prices always kind of suck)...that was a motive for divorce, as Mrs was watching me like a hawk 😂

Now I'm kind of tempted to go back. I'm sure whatever's left after VOA sampling would happily run in the Mazda.

Currently AZ has this one sale for $2 a quart. Very tempted to nab a ton for future oil changes, but I am curious as to how Castrol's 0w-16 compares to Mobil1 and/or Liqui Moly's.

I bought quite a bit. Might use in the Ioniq Hybrid - straight or as a mix with xW-20 or xW-30. It doesn't show "made in Japan" on these...
