I've always used the cartridge OEM Toyota oil filter on my Highlander (part #04152-YZZA1). Works great, no issues. This filter has no endcaps. Many of the higher-end aftermarket products do have endcaps. I'm just curious if having endcaps in any way has a negative impact on flow? Any ideas?

I've used Delco, Bosch and Mahle cartridge filters on my Saab. They all had plastic end caps. Might have made them more resistant to twisting while installing.

The filtering element in a Toyota canister filter looks exactly the same as the cartridge filter, no end caps. Been using them for years with no problem.

Does Toyota use endcaps on their TRD oil filters?
