Any home HVAC experts out there. I had my unit checked and they use what is called subcooling to check the charge of 410 freon...Mine had 10 degrees of subcooling...Is that goog and what does it mean. I am used to the old way of looking at the two gauges but what they do and use now is all high tech dugital stuff that figures out stuff for you on a screen...
 
I think you need to know humidity and temperature of both inside and outdoors to make those calculations.
 
Subcooling is the difference in temperature of the suction line, compared to the pressure (& associated temperature) on the low side gauge on your gauge set. What is the issue? Not cooling enough? Icing up? Some of the newer gauges have both, I’m an old fashioned tightwad, I have a temperature pipe clamp…
