Carquest red bought off Rockauto. 5000 miles and a lot of short tripping on a 11 Silverado. Everything looked and was working as it should. Was in with Rotella Gas Truck.

The service station I work at uses CQ red on pretty much everything that doesn't require a CQ Blue.
OT, but what do you mean by require a CQ Blue?

Vehicles with a longer OCI? "Higher end" vehicles? CQ Red isn't made?

I had thought it was some euro cars like Audi but I re-looked the up and they actually show a CQ standard. We keep CQ Blues for euro's most likely for the longer OCI's they run vs an old Buick. But to my knowledge the big application book requires CQ blue on stuff that has higher bypass pressure like Chevrolet vehicles that spec UPF64R filters for stop start and something to do with the oil pumps. GM parts catalog states to use the 64R's as well so I know that's accurate.

Interesting approach. I’m always curious of the why’s shops are operating a certain way. Thanks for the feedback.

Funnily enough, I have a CQ Blue sitting on the shelf for the Alfa. Reason being is that the efficiency is better than the Red, but also, for a 10k OCI I trust the Blue to be up to the task as opposed to the Red.
