Hello folks.

Im trying to get a carb for what I believe is a Red Max backpack blower, but Im not sure which one.. The only numbers I can find on it are L-65 GZ65N3 71107156. I dont think it's a EB series, because it has a 2 barrel carb. But the shroud looks different than the EBZ series. Anyway..
It has a walbro WYA-81-742 carb, but I cant find anything about those numbers either. Which tune up kit/carb I should order? Will any walbro WYA-81-1 work? And better yet, which blower do I have?

Thanks!

I think Redmax was one of the ones that did strato charged engines before anyone else. Carbs on strato engines are not two barrel but have a second butterfly to control the strato part of the engine.

It looks like an older EB7000 or EBZ7001 RedMax blower.

Just get the whole carburetor from Amazon for $9.49.

It looks similar, except mine has a EBZ intake but a EB shroud, and the EB didn't use a "second butterfly strato charged" carb I believe.

So that's what I wondered.. Almost any WYA carb "should" work? Because that link takes me to a WYA-44 Carburetor.

Strato charged engines.. Thanks

Strato charged engines..

The WYA-44 should work for your blower as it supercedes several prior WYA carbs. It fits the EB7000 and the EB7001 (which I own). My EB7001 has the newer "automotive style" intake and air filter just like the EBZ7001, but is not "Stratocharged". My carb looks like yours and the WYA-44.

What Im finding is the EB series used the WYK single barrel, while the EBZ used the WYA Stratocharged double barrel carbs. So I must have a EBZ..

Thinking I better order a WYA with at least the number 81 in it, like doitmyself suggested..

I wonder if the 742 is a RedMax OEM designation? I've seen that before - a manufacturer assigns a unique code to their version of that part.

Looking thru the ebay listings, there seems to be 2 versions for the WYA-81/WYA-81-1: See the 4th. picture from top.

Good question.. And I just noticed the WYA-81-1 Carb you posted has three mounting bolt holes, while mine has two. Always somethin..

The WYA-44 should work for your blower as it supercedes several prior WYA carbs. It fits the EB7Z8000 and the EBZ7001 (which I own). My EB7001 has the newer "automotive style" intake and air filter just like the EBZ7001, but is not "Stratocharged". My carb looks like yours and the WYA-44, but is single barreled.

Sorry about the confusion as I just took apart my EB7001 and looked directly at the Walbro carburetor. Mine actually has a single barrel, not a double barrel like the WYA-44 which fits the Stratocharged EBZ7001 and has two mounting holes like yours.

Thanks folks..

Does the red knob on the WYA carb release the idle screw to stop the engine?
