VOA for Canadian Tire MotoMaster 15w-40 conventional diesel oil.

CK-4 rated.

Cat/Finning VOA

Took the sample out of a pail, while dispensing oil into a smaller jug.

This is the newer formulation “Developed with Shell technology”.

This sample is from a pail with dispensing lid on it and had been stored for 1.5 years. I may get a 5L jug next time it goes on sale and do another sample to compare. If I do, I will update this thread.

@fantastic for the spreadsheet if you want.

Link for anyone not familiar with the oil

You're on a roll! Added & I appreciate the sampling. Looks good. Is it not API SN rated anywhere on the bottle?
Looks similar to the ST, does it not? I'm not a specialist by any means, Thanks for posting this too.
It somewhat resembles Shell Rotella T5. ST doesn't have very much boron like this does but the other additives do appear very close. We know Warren Distribution does the ST. Great to see what shows up on a VOA eh?

Are there anti-foaming additives that aren't silicon based? I've been seeing some HDEOs with 2-4 ppm Si, which seems pretty low.

It has a better additive pack than most of the motorcycle VOAs posted at a third of the price.
Motomaster 15w40 looks like a good choice for lawn equipment and compact tractors.
I believe the phosphorus limit for CK-4 is 1,200.
