Federated is a wholesaler to Coops in Canada, and the oil sells mostly to Farm users, and typically in bulk. I very much doubt it is not top quality oil, or, put another way, not what it is described as. They own a refinery, bulk distribution of oil and gas, etc.

I have been using their oils for several years now. I don't doubt they are good oils but I shop around for price. Their engine oils are hit and miss on price and I found PetroCan bulk dealers had better pricing. I bought the Co-op SL gear oils for my trucks. 20L pail of SL 80w140 came out to 9$ tax in per liter and cheaper yet per liter for the 75w90 in the 5l jugs. I ran some hard intervals on the 140 weight gear oil in my old 1500. When it came time to change it still came out golden with little to now wear material on the magnet. the factory fill came out black and ran out like water when cold. I will continue to use their products but always double check price on the engine oils.
