This was parked in the lot of the local post office this weekend. I was in the passenger seat and am still on crutches so I couldn’t get out to look at the back. I don’t believe I’ve seen anything similar on the road. As you can see based on the width of the parking stripes it’s a tiny little thing. Any idea of make/model?

I believe it’s a late 90s to early 2000s Daihatsu Atrai. Probably just a rural carrier’s personally imported kei van.

I think you nailed it. I’m amazed someone in my tiny little town would go to the trouble to import a vehicle. I assume it’s right hand drive, so at least that makes sense for a mail carrier servicing rural boxes.

Some of the ones listed from your link have a 0.66L engine with an automatic transmission. I can only imagine how anemic that thing is, although for stopping at a mailbox every 300 yards or crawling from traffic light to traffic light it really wouldn’t matter.

That looks like that would be just the ticket for mail delivery.
However, at least in some places, that could be an issue getting that registered and insured.
