The new Pilot Sport 5 is 1.7% seconds faster than the Pilot Sport 4S on a wet lap on Michelin’s test track. In addition to the wet performance, the Pilot Sport 5 is 1.5% faster than its predecessor on a dry lap. The New Pilot Sport 5 press release isn’t just about numbers either. Michelins goes into detail about how they improved the feel of these new tires, which should result in even more driving pleasure. We can’t wait to try these out.

I just put a set of Pilot 4S on our '13 GS350 F Sport, with the staggered sizes. $1600 all in with lifetime warranty.
Wheel Works (Firestone company) matched Tire Rack; no questions asked.
I almost went with the All Season version, which I'm sure would have been fine.
This is really good rubber.

This is the new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 (not 5S) which obviously does not replace
the Pilot Sport 4S. The Michelin Pilot Sport 5 of course is the successor of the
Pilot Sport 4. Obvious enough, isn't it?
It also doesn't come with the higher-end bi-compound (not dual-tread) technology
typical for both PSS and PS 4S. We'll see when the new PS 5S comes, hopefully soon
as I need a new set of tires.
Don't get misled by marketing department provided numbers and comparisons. The
PS4 already performed better on most colder wet surfaces compared to its 4S brother
(that was better on dry and when hot). No surprise about the PS5 being even better in
the wet (if the numbers are even correct).

Same question was asked about PSS. Can it be improved? And that is a serious question as that tire defied physics. But we got 4S, no 5 and soon after we will get 5S.

No but the 4S appeared sometime after the PS4, so it's quite logical this will be the basis of the PS5S eventually.

Very cool, 4S will find it's way onto my Sportwagen eventually when these Conti Extreme Contact Sports wear out so maybe I'll be at the right time or the 5S!

I have the Super Sports on my 13 GT500. Best tires I've ever owned. They probably have a couple more years of life on them, not looking forward to having to figure out what to replace them with.
