Can someone explain Visc cst@100c?

In looking at a Virgin oil analysis I'm not sure what these #'s mean..I see 10.8 for Pennz Plat 5W30 and 14.0 for Valvoline 10W40...I think I remember seeing GC at 12.0.

What does these #'s mean and basically are you looking for a higher or lower # here?

Goose, Basically the higher the number the thicker the viscosity. So if GC is a 12.0 if you look on th e viscosity chart you will see that is at the "thicker" side of a SAE 30 Weight oil on the Cst@100C scale.
