Can I?

Saw this on eBay and I'm wondering if I can use that to recharge my AC system on my 93 Crown Vic. It was converted to R134A sometime before I bought it and it still works but doesn't blow as cold as it should. I'm pretty sure it's low on refrigerant. Is that safe to use? Will I blow anything up or kill myself by using it?

Go to an auto parts store and get a kit that has a hose and gauge and a can of AC compressor oil and a couple cans of 134a. The kits are much better than that ebay thing which you can get at an auto parts store or Walmarts too. My wife bought one of those can gizmos without asking me once and I tried to use it, pure junk, don't waste your money.

The kit with the hoses and gauge is much better quality and reuseable many times. I've pumped in refrigerant a bunch of times and if you are reasonably mechanically inclined you can do it.

You need to have the car running with the AC on at full blast when recharging it. Follow the directions on the kit and on the cans of oil and the 134.
