Can i mix G30 with a generic shop branded red OAT?

Hi.
Wife's Opel/VX Astra 1.6 had a major leak from bottom hose. The coolant it lost was just a generic, shop branded red OAT https://www.halfords.com/motoring/e...t-antifreeze-concentrate-5-litres-798785.html

It needs bringing back up to strength and i have no more of the red OAT. I do have some G30. Can i use that in with the red OAT? It is a different colour but i can live with that.

Yes, that's likely what was in there originally, or close as it might have had dexcool. is that a diesel engine?

I don’t see why not - G30 was sold by VW as G12/12+ and is a straight OAT.

basf g30 and g34 use sebacate. G34 orange was GM europe factory fill, shares the same approval as havoline xlc/dexcool used in other markets.

g34 is marketed only for GMs because of their factory fill contract. G30 is their generic product, if you have a ford that came with orange xlc from the factory they want you to use G30
