$10m is pretty much an unattainable goal for the vast majority of the retirees. I don't understand who are these kind of articles targeting.

The articles are click bait.

We have discussed the lack of financial education, and fiscal discipline, in the average person previously.

The genuinely inadequate (and frankly, sad) median balance of $132K at age 65, is a reflection of that lack.

A lifetime of work, and $132K is the result?
