On water that requires a minimum thickness especially over cold water. For Macondo - bp did that with fire resistant booms slowly pulled by vessels keeping the “MOFT”
One of the causes they are looking into, is if a ship's anchor impacted the pipe, causing a leak.

My previous post "Man Made" meant calculated/deliberate.
I'd rather it be an anchor but have my doubts.
More fish are killed every year around Tampa Bay. Caused by "Red Tide". They actually set up "Dead fish ONLY" dumpsters around the beaches.

Latest news is a large ship that was anchored somewhat near the pipeline exhibited unusual movements that took it over the pipeline (as if its anchor was snagged on the line.) Not sure how credible the story is.
Just like PG&E stocks. "Cept PG@E has a powerful lobby force.
Looks like the Coast Guard thinks the damage may have been done months before the break and that the Rotterdam Express is not the ship that did the damage.
Which way to the beach?
