I have the urge to buy a Williams Peep and some mags for my Marlin 795 but the idea of paying for shipping to Canada from a chain of stores that are IN Canada has me a bit incensed.

Why should I be mad you may ask? With the code 3WINTER shipping is UNLIMITED FREE on standard sized items for U.S. residents.

Does anyone know a checkout code for www.cabelas.ca that will give me Free Shipping or something good for a Quebec resident??

Sorry for the rant. My rants are rare and I try to keep them Rant Worthy!

I agree shipping in Canada sucks, just plain sucks. It's like our banking fees, and taxes, lots of them.

You should look at a shipping outlet just over the boarder. Order all your stuff there and then pick it up within the year. Pay around $3-5 for an average sized box when you pick it up.

I use Montana Shipping Outlet, google that for an idea.

Saying that our dollar has dropped so that the average Canuk is now paying + 9% on the dollar, that sucks too. Lots of things suck.

Well I agree with the shipping Rant.
Seems the only way is to cross the border and collect yourself.
USPS seems very helpful, you can have a package sent to a post office marked Hold for pick- up, and providing you get there in a reasonable time, you can just collect it.
Now, having said that, sometimes if they realize you are a Canuck crossing the border, they can get a little snotty!
Another option is to get a friend in the U.S. to just forward the package on to you.
Normal USPS international rates are quite reasonable, it's only if you start dealing with Brokerage companies things get really outrageous.
What REALLY bugs me is, if I'm shopping online and I see an item I want, it's often very difficult to tell if the company is U.S. or Canadian. Often I have had to go to the check out before I find they do not ship to Canada, or the is a HUGE shipping cost attached.

I have been BURNED by Brokerage fees in the past as well. I refuse to buy from the States unless they state "No Brokerage Fees".

I bought an aluminum Rhino case for a Palm Tungsten T way back in the day, and IIRC the bill total came to 80-85$ for a 40$ item.
