Burning Itunes playlists to CD in safe mode?

I have another post here about my computer at home having a blue screen and Windows won't start. Computer finally bit the dust last weekend. I received replies here and have learned online that the hard drive is probably dead. I understand I can replace the hard drive for maybe 50 bucks and the computer will work but all files on the computer will be lost, including the 2500 songs I have in my Itunes library.

Does anyone know if you can burn or retrieve Itunes songs to a CD in safe mode? I have a few other files (tax records, pictures) I would like to save also. I am running Windows Vista basic home edition. I do not have the Windows disc, it came loaded on the computer.

The CD burning drivers (IMAPI.dll, I believe) won't be loaded.

I would just replace the hard drive and hook up the old one once things are working, and copy over what you can.

Thanks. Do you mean I can put in a new hard drive and still run the same hard drive (the bad one) at the same time?
