Local red rock bulk oil store.
I think there's one around Oklahoma city too.
Their prices are shell rotella T 15w-40 for $18 a gallon.
"Royal" 15w-40 for $14.
Cash discount available, not sure how much. Bring your own container.
At least it's not Walmart.
I know what shell rotella T is but not sure what "Royal" is.

Bring your own container. Wow.

These still seem more convenient and the containers come with.

"At least its not Walmart." Interesting, but going against that flow is a waste of time and money imo.

I’m in this business.

… Bring your own container is not a good thing…

Royal is either Royal purple. Which they stock. Or a house brand. Either way, $18 a gallon for T4 is crazy when you can buy better old cheaper, from Walmart.

Also if you need large quantity. T4 is cheaper from Sam’s club in a drum, than most distributors can sell it for.

If that definitely is royal purple it's worth buying for $14 a gal. We beat on royal purple a lot but there's no better 14 buck a gal 15w-40 than that. I wouldn't spend that much for rotella T that's a 12 buck a gal oil but that's not to say it's bad, it's great oil I'm just not paying much for it.

That’s insanity pricing. I’ll gladly go buy Providence brand 15w40 at $12/gallon anyday. Or the delo 2.5 gal for $38 at AAP clearance.

As for "Royal," it might be a local brand or a less known label, but it could be worth trying if it’s cheaper. Just make sure to check if it meets the specs for your vehicle.

I’d say that rather than a nebulous “meets” it actually has the license or approval needed.

Deliberately going out and purchasing a boutique from a trusted blender that “meets” or is “suitable for” is one thing, but that’s not this.

In this instance one can buy an oil with the proper license at Walmart all day long.

Mmmm probably.

If I'm buying 15w-40 I don't care if it's dexos, vw or 3 prong licensed.

I work in bulk lubes.

I'm not filling random containers.. short of a pail, are people showing up with drums or large tanks on their trucks?

Our pumps fill a 330 gallon tote in maybe 7-8 minutes, imagine filling a pail!

I'm not filling random containers. We sell cases if gallons, pails, drums and bulk.

Bulk usually is 100+ gallons. My pump "wastes" about 5 gallons just as flush. Plus pumps at around 30 gallons a minute.
They sell cases, pallets, pallets of cases, drums. The oil I got came from a 55 gallon drum.
These guys fill random containers, I guess it works for them.
