Boy have you got that wrong....China makes so much automotive content you wouldn't believe it. It is made by US & European supplier joint ventures.


If you mean low tech stuff like rotors and such then you are right. But sensors and high tech stuff are imported from abroad and assembled in China. A V6 block can be made there, too.

But the products manufactured there for the internal market are always a generation or two behind what we have in the US.
 
ridiculous! GM wants to cut labor costs so they outsource something as big as a CAR to be built in China only to be shipped and sold in the US. A US-originated car company doing this is absolutely insane. this must be their way of screwing the American worker. But then again the stupid unions are to blame.
 
BUICKS are more of a hot item in CHINA than here . That's probably the logic . Also , foreign car makers make less profit in CHINA . So , it's about demand there and the economics ( higher profit margin ) .
