Brokerage app Webull seeing ‘an uptick in deposits’ as stimulus checks roll out

Not exactly what stimulus was intended for imo.
Yeah, but it also helps to prop up the stock market. Year to date return on the S&P 500 is about 4.55% so far. Plus it's not that big a part of the market, the top 10% own over 80% of the stocks. Stimulus didn't go to that class.

If someone's caught up on debt investing "found money" isn't that bad an idea. Especially if they can do it through their IRA and get a tax advantage.

That’s not really stimulating the economy or helping a dire situation. If IRA investing is ok, then they should have rolled checks to everyone. We didnt get one. Yet our kids will be paying for this stupidity.

No kidding. So a false demand that drives an already overheated market, on the backs of the poor is somehow a good thing?

Rent and mortgages and groceries are a good thing.

The previous checks went to more people and the people at the upper end ended up saving a lot of it. When you say your kids, it depends how much they end up making.

No one ever said if it was a good thing or not. It just good for those holding stocks. Most laws aren't perfect and don't hit their target 100% of the time. But don't let perfect be the enemy of the good.
