This YouTube video show replacement.. looks simple. But the part is like $75 to $160.

I'm thinking I can try to replace just that broken nipple between the 2 parts?
Hopefully the part with the threads snapped off inside will come out

Sounds good or is this not possible?

Your photograph shows the pressure regulator and the gas valve and a nipple connecting the two.

Removing the nipple might not be easy unless you get a properly sized pipe nipple extractor.

One of the extractors was already open... an old guy working the tool dept at Lowe's was like use it. So I put it in the demo vice with a wrench on it and it came out with a significant amount of force.

All back together! fixed with a $2 brass nipple from Lowe's.
