Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys just passed away at 82

They all are passing away but that's old age I guess for the normal male. RiP.......
Plus these guys lived a rough life.. amazingly they lived this long... 😔

I remember when his brother passed away in 1983, do not remember when the other brother passed away in 1998. He made great music; he will be missed but not forgotten.

I was in grade school when they were playing at the local state fair. We went as my dad was hired at the last minute to tune the piano which was on stage. As he was working on it he kept getting interrupted when some of the band members were doing the sound check. He was not a fan, LOL. I was amazed at how loud they were. Stratocaster guitars plugged into cranked Fender Twin amps.

And don't forget Glen Campbell in the mix. He must've written several songs for them and he was offered a full, billed spot in the band. He turned down being a Beach Boy due to established, steady work. He didn't want to tour.
I've no further details.

Anybody know anything about the album "Demons and Villains"? The song, "Good Vibrations" was the only one saved from it. It was destroyed for some reason. A biographer was interviewed on the radio.

Recently I heard Billy Joel joking about how, when he was first starting out, he was opening shows for The Beach Boys. He was laughing about how he used to get booed and people would walk out until The Beach Boys came on stage. RIP BW.

Great cover of Chuck Berry . Have the 45 purchased in '76 in the closet . Also have it on Beach Boys " 15 Big ones " L.P.. Other Beach Boys songs continue after " Rock and Roll Music " .

From " 15 Big Ones " .

Sad to hear this. My wife and I saw BW at the hard rock Ft. Lauderdale in 2016 and he was failing then. I am not exactly sure what was going on with him, maybe deaf and some mental issues? But it did not matter, he sounded great, just like the old days and it was a true pleasure to see him. RIP!

RIP BW.

The first concert I ever saw was the Beach Boys at the Indiana state Fair. Always loved their upbeat songs and harmony. Brian was a true talent; his ability to conceptualize and write complimented his performance on stage.
My first was also the Beach Boys, at the Peoria Civic Center. Dennis Wilson was already gone by a couple years, and the biggest applause came for longtime fill-in guy (and Peoria native) Bruce Johnston. After this many years I am not 100% certain Brian was there or not.... I think so but there is also the possibility that he wasn't. He did have his absences from time to time.
