I just purchased a new Toyota and would like to get some motor oil recomendations. What Brand?
What type (dino or synthetic)? What Brand of filter?

3-5k mile changes=Pennzoil

Over 5k mile changes=Amsoil, Mobil 1, Schaeffer's.

Best possible choice for this engine= Probably Redline.

Thats my opinion.

You want synthetic or not?
You want something available locally?

3kish Dino=Valvoline Durablend

5K+ changes go Amsoil or Mobil 1.

Filter=Napa gold.

Castrol Dino, Supertech filters, 5k intervals.

With a new, under warranty, vehicle, read you manual. Chances are you will fall into the severe service due to either short trips or long trips. Do not exceed specified time/millage. If that puts you into short intervals, you may as well use dino. Save your receipts. If you change the oil your self, write in the mileage and your initials in your owners manual. I would pick a brand you expect to be around your next change, and stick to it. If I can find reasonably priced AC Delcos, I use them. My next choice is ST. They are about as good as most of the after market filters and cheaper. From there, it is anybody in stock except Fram. I use Pennzoil 5W-30.
