Brake Rotor Micrometer

My auto instructor taught me how to read a micrometer, but it has been a long time since I've used one.

I'd greatly appreciate any instructions on how to read a micrometer.

to be accuate on rotors you need a micometer with pointed anvil and spindle. that way you measure into the grooves. a regular micrometer only hits the high spots and the low spots are what matter.

exactly, i have a digital one, takes too long using a regular kind when you work in a shop.

you can get "pointy" jaws for digital calipers, that would be the fastest way. you don't have to be terribly accurate with rotors.
