Brake fluid shelf life, how old is too old.

Does anyone have any definitive rule of thumb for the shelf life of sealed brake fluid? I have an old can of ate superblue sealed in the metal can that is about 10-15 years old, would this still be usable?

Sealed in a metal can? I'd do it

I'm going to say it's alright since it's sealed and better than 10 year old Brake Fluid in sitting in a master cylinder.

There are many posters here proud to say they never changed the fluid in their 20 or 25 year old cars. 10 years on the shelf in a sealed can is nothing.

I wouldn’t use it. Brake fluid is cheap. Why risk it?

As long as you shake the can real good first, you'll be fine.

If it's in glass or steel can use it. plastics are pores and will let moisture in.
