You haven't looked hard enough...keep looking one other thing use a hose and spray water around the place where you think it went. The water stream might force it out onto the ground.

I dunno... I'm perfectly capable of dropping things in an engine bay with, or without, the presence of a cart. Don't know about the OP, though.

Maybe it self identifies as a skid plate? Have you never had a conversation with your poor brake cap?

The mere presence of a cart doesn't in and of itself preclude dropping or losing something in the engine compartment..that said, I have personally found that when I take an item off the engine and place it immediately on said cart, it is 100% effective at preventing loss of parts in the engine compartment. However your results may vary....
