Morning all, quick question. As far as premium gas goes (91 octane here in Iowa), who has the better between these 2 Top Tier stations, BP or Quick Trip? Asking for a friend with an '01 Passat with the 1.8T and usually fills up at Kum and Go, a local Midwest station. TIA!

This. They both meet the TT standard. Only his wallet will know the difference.

There should be little to no difference in performance or cleaning abilities between Top Tier brands. I would balance convenience, price and station busyness (the busier the better due to more fuel turnover/lower chance of getting "stale" fuel).

The Missus works in Accounts Payable for a group of hospitals, and some their locations in Iowa have fuel accounts with Kum and Go. Whenever somebody in her department sees the name for the first time, well... I'm sure you can predict the reaction. I told her to tell everybody who laughs that it's a chain of urology clinics.

QT in the DSM area uses BP fuels. Kum n go, hyvee and Casey's is all flint hills. There are a few phillips66 around the area as well.

BP has about 20% more additives if I remember right. Both are quality gas but BP is definitely a higher grade of gas quality wise.

Yup, they are all over here in Iowa. Better yet, I saw a "Pump and Munch" station up in Minnesota.

I can honestly say that in my 42 years of driving I have never been able to tell the difference between brands of fuel. Having said that, I avoid weird little no-name stations, but other than that I buy by price.

I'd take Kwik Trip over Quick Trip any day.....

I wouldn't. QT was the first to be certified TT of all gas providers. They even warranty their product should you have issues using it. KT...not so much.

Both work fine for me in both vehicles, and I use the Quik Trip 91 in the scooters because it has no ethanol added. There are more Quik Trip stations near me, but BP has a better rewards program for frequent fill-ups (and getting discounts on fuel). In my area, the Quik Trip stations are usually in slightly better condition, but I buy top-tier fuel on convenience and price, primarily.

No offense, but how would you know? The Kwik Trip I speak of is based out of Lacrosse, WI -- and is nowhere near KC. Honestly, it was meant to be a bit of a joke, anyways.

Know what? Look it up. When did KT get certified if they have? Do they warranty their gas? Yes, we have KTs in this part of the country but they usually have philips66 if I remember right.

Again, it was simply a bad joke on my part. However, since you insist.... http://www.kwiktrip.com/Fuel/Top%20Tier%20Guarantee/ We’re proud to join industry leaders by delivering Top Tier™ Gasoline with higher levels of detergent in every gallon of gasoline we sell, guaranteed. If you have a gasoline-related problem, simply ask your automotive technician to complete a brief form explaining that the problem was caused by gasoline and itemize the charges. How to make a Gas Related Claim. If you do experience a problem, follow these simple steps: 1. Print the Customer Claim forms [Motor Vehicle Fuel Service Report] and [Service Data Report] on your printer or call 608-781-8988; ask for Petroleum and we will send you the proper forms. 2. Fill out the Customer Data portion of the form. 3. Have your mechanic or repair facility fill out the Service Data portion of the form. 4. Send the completed form along with copies of your repair bill to the address on the form. 5. We will reimburse you for any legitimate fuel-related repairs and the gasoline. Is this good enough for you, or do you want to continue a useless urination contest? This particular chain of 'Kwik Trips' goes no further south than Des Moines, IA. There must be an alternate chain of KTs for your geographic region.
