For interest I bought a Bosch 3325, thinking it was a Purolator design. It is made in Mexico, different baseplate, bypass, all different than Purolator. It’s also about midway in height between a standard XG4386 or PL14477 size and the 4967 or 14476 size. I don’t know if this is a new thing. It looks very good, open louvers, silicone valve, no excess glue on inside, not the black glue, supposed to be proprietary Filtech media, 99%@20 microns. $6. I assume this is more like Wix made, It is supposed to replace the two larger filters.

now owned by Mann.

Thanks for sharing the differences & COO. These Bosch's have made the change to Mexico for a bit now & finding older COO might be getting tricky.

No spec sheet in the way, no black glue in the way, seems like a nice filter and should fit where a 4967 size would. But not made in USA. I did buy a smaller size before and had to send it back, closed louvers. I don’t know how the date codes work on these. This one is 47323.

"23" most likely representing 2023.
There have been some examples of these Mexico built ones that aren't great though. You might want to cut them open to see how they are fairing.

So these are made by the Wix arm of MH in Mexico? I did see some complaints, louvers and excess glue. Bosch probably isn't going to play around with their German countrymen if the defects aren’t corrected. I don’t know who owns Bosch, maybe not Bosch.

Most likely, Mobil used M+H for many years. They are free to choose whomever they want to manufacture them though. Here's a recent post regarding a Purolator made Mobil 1 oil filter so I think M+H Mexico made Mobil 1 is plausible. I know they have manufacturing all over the world.
